Clubs involved with Central Illinois Precision Shooting

TEAM DARNALL JUNIOR PRECISION PISTOL
is the competitive pistol team of the Illinois Junior Precision Pistol Shooters, an
NRA junior shooting club.  Current members' ages range from nine to 17 years.  
The team was founded in August of 2004.
For the past two years, the team has competed in local area matches, including
the Illinois State Indoor Pistol Championships.  In July, 2007 Team Darnall will
host the 3rd Annual Illinois Junior Invitational Pistol Tournament, at Darnall's
Gunworks and Ranges, Bloomington, Ill.  This is where we train 12 months a
year...indoor and outdoor.
Team members shoot Ruger22/45 series II, .22 caliber,target pistols build by
Clark Custom Guns.  
We welcome new members interested in precision pistol shooting.

Air Rifle Club
A student club at Illinois State University open to all community members, this
organization has been growing steadily in members and success in the area of
competitive air rifle.  Shooting sporter and precision air rifles club members have
placed well in air matches across Illinois.  The College members ranked 2nd in
the Nation in the 2009 NRA Collegiate Sectional Match.

Great news starting in 2010 the NRA will sponsor a Collegiate Club National
Championship.  The top 8 College Clubs from the Collegiate Sectional will meet
for a shoulder to shoulder National Championship in early April, 2010 for the 1st
Collegiate Club National Air Gun Championship.

ROTC
The Illinois State University ROTC unit supports a precision small bore team.
A very successful program in both state and national competition.
The small bore team has won the Illinois State Collegiate championship for
5 years in a row.
In the 2006 NRA Collegiate Sectionals they were the number 1 ranked ROTC unit
in the US.
